Colts Win Yet Again

The Annual Sports Fixture between Aitchison College, Prep School and Daanish School Vehari featured five thrilling games: Athletics, Basketball, Cricket, Football, and Hockey.

Results:

  1. Athletics: Daanish School emerged victorious with a score of 51 to 37.
  2. Basketball: AC Colts narrowly won with a score of 26 to 24 in an intense match.
  3. Cricket: Batting first, AC Colts scored 141 in 20 overs. In reply, Daanish school was bowled out for 98. AC Colts won the match by 44 runs.
  4. Football: AC Colts claimed victory with a close margin of 1–0., 5, Hockey: AC Colts dominated with an impressive 11-0 score.

The Basketball and Football matches were quite exciting, showcasing the competitive spirit of both teams. The fixture was a resounding success, with players from both schools demonstrating exceptional enthusiasm and sportsmanship. Efforts of the Sports Department in holding such events deserve special appreciation

Kelly House Formal Dinner: A Night of Learning, Music, and Connection

On 22nd January 2025, Kelly House hosted a formal dinner, bringing together an extraordinary panel of seven guests, including the Principal, the Bursar, and the Headmistress Senior School. The event was meticulously designed to create a platform for Kelly students to interact with accomplished professionals from diverse fields. Guests were strategically seated with small groups of six students, encouraging dynamic conversations and the exchange of ideas. This unique arrangement allowed students to learn from the guests’ experiences, wisdom, and career achievements. The evening also featured a delightful musical session where Kellyites showcased their talent by performing songs, creating a lively and enjoyable atmosphere. Marked by engaging discussions and heartfelt moments, the event highlighted the values and heritage of Kelly House while demonstrating its unwavering dedication to inspiring and cultivating the leaders of tomorrow.

Aitchison College Student Becomes World's Youngest Sports Author

At nineteen years and sixty-five days, Hasan Malik (Batch of 2024) became the World’s Youngest Sports Author by publishing his first book, Ten Moments That Changed Cricket. The book is for cricket fans of all ages. It provides an analytical look at the modern game coupled with historical insights into how the world of cricket developed over the last 200 years.  The author examines the spread of international cricket, the evolution of all three formats, and the changes in playing styles - and more in the tapestry of cricket’s history. Featuring a Foreword by Mr. Ali Khan Tareen, the owner of the Multan Sultans cricket franchise, the book is sure to be a riveting read.

Recently, Hasan Malik was invited to speak about his book on PTV World. Hasan is also the founder of Pakistan’s largest youth-run cricket blog, The Cricketing Hour, with 4k+ followers on Instagram and 60+ videos on YouTube.

Ferozsons, Pakistan’s largest publishing house, has certified Hasan’s achievement as the youngest-ever sports author in the world. Mr. Hasan is currently pursuing studies in Computer Science at the University of Toronto.

JS - Whole School Cross Country Race, 2025

“There is no time to think about how much I hurt; there is only time to run.” –Ben Logsdon.

The whole Junior School participated in the Cross Country Race on Thursday, 16th January 2025. The boys had been diligently preparing for the competition during their wellness classes. The event showcased their remarkable sportsmanship and unyielding grit.  The determined athletes were encouraged by enthusiastic supporters. The young winners received medals, immense encouragement, and appreciation from the worthy Headmistress of the Junior School and their teachers.

3rd Aitchison Junior Satellite International Squash Championship 2025

The 3rd Aitchison Junior Satellite International Squash Championship 2025 was held at Aitchison in collaboration with the Pakistan Squash Federation.  There were two categories U/19 and U/11 with a draw of thirty-two players in each. It was quite a gruelling and fiercely contested championship in both categories. The players hailing from all over Pakistan exhibited deft Squash craftsmanship. Four boys represented Aitchison College and performed very well.

The final of the tournament was witnessed by our old boys and the members of the Pakistan Squash Federation. The Chief Guest of the occasion was Mr. Hamesh Khan, an old Aitchisonian who along with our worthy Principal distributed medals, trophies and shields among the participants and our Aitchison College Management. The Sports Department deserves full credit for successfully arranging such a huge event.  The following were the winners:

Prep School Annual Math Exhibition

The 4th  Annual Math Exhibition was held on Friday, January 17, 2025. It exceeded all expectations and reaffirmed Mathematics’ universal appeal. The event provided an exceptional platform for our students to explore and present their knowledge, transforming abstract Mathematical Concepts into engaging and tangible experiences. From visually captivating displays to hands-on interactive activities, the exhibition brought the Prep School venue to life, immersing students, teachers, and parents in the beauty and relevance of Mathematics. Highlights of the event included innovative projects such as the Sundial, Mathematical Magic Tricks, Napier Bone, Pythagorean Theorem with Trigonometry Park, Life-Sized Calculator, Mathematics on Pyramids of Giza and Leaning Tower of Pisa, Aitchison Railways, Fizz Buzz Frenzy, Big Ben Architectural Model, Hydraulic Marble Roller Coaster, Sierpinski Triangle, 3D Tessellation with Origami, and many more, each illustrating real-world applications and igniting curiosity.

More than just an academic showcase, the exhibition emphasised teamwork, problem-solving, and confidence-building among students. Designed to make mathematics accessible and enjoyable.  The exhibition created an environment where young minds could visualise and grasp complex concepts easily. The event celebrated not only the ingenuity of the participants but also the power of Mathematics to inspire creativity and collaboration.

Senior School Urdu Declamation

The Inter-House Urdu Declamation was held on Thursday, the 16th of January, 2025. Students from all Senior School Houses participated in this competition showcasing their oratory talents, while celebrating the richness of Urdu language. They passionately delivered speeches on thought-provoking topics, captivating the audience with their eloquence, confidence, and command over the language. Esteemed Judges evaluated the participants on their contest and speaking skills.

Walter A. Robinson Challenge Cup for Cross Country Race, Present and Old Boys 2024-25 was held on Sunday 19th January 2025. The participants as per traditions were in phenomenal spirit and immense enthusiasm. Around one hundred-and-seventy present Aitchison College boys took part in the race.  The Under-35 Category was represented by seven participants, eleven old Aitchisonians turned out to be in the 35-45 Age Category, ten were in the 46-55 Age Category and seven filled in the Over-55 Category.

Our student Salar Saad Khan showed a flawless running exhibition and broke the record by completing the Cross Country Route in 36 Min 11.80 Sec. In the 35-45 Age Group Shehrez Khan broke the record. Even the Old Boys in their respective categories burnt the grunt showing stamina and strength. The spectators backed all contestants making the atmosphere quite euphoric.

In the end, our worthy Principal S.M Turab Hussain, Ms Amina Kamran, HMSS, Mr Khalid Noon, the Bursar and Mr Umer Zaman, Games Master and Head of Sports, distributed medals, trophies and souvenirs among the position holders.

Reap thy Reward

The General Assembly is one of the most significant events at Aitchison. The last General Assembly was held on 17th January 2025. Boys of three schools in full winter uniform, well-gowned staff, proud parents, and a table laden with prizes, medals, blazers, and trophies sent joyous vibes. Students who fared exceptionally well in academics, sports, and extracurricular activities were given away prizes by the worthy Principal S.M. Turab Hussain, who, later in his speech, paid rich tribute to the winners and those who got early admissions to the top global universities. Such accomplishments typify our College's rich ethos. It was an occasion to cherish forever.

Aitchisonians Power Through JC Lindsay Scottish Squash Tournament

The JC Lindsay Scottish Junior Open is one of the most prestigious squash competitions in the world.  This competition was held in December, Edinburgh, Scotland. This is a major competition on the junior calendar, attracting hundreds of top junior players from all over the world. It is a matter of immense pride for us all that one of our students, Sakhi Ullah Khan Tareen did extremely well. He breezed into the semi-finals, losing to Oliver Denver from New Zealand who was the eventual winner in the U/19 Category. It was a hard-fought match in which Sakhi Ullah Khan Tareen exhibited undying resilience and craftsmanship. He finally secured third place in the aforementioned category.

In the U/13 Category, our student Syed Muhammad Hussaim reached the quarter-final, but lost to Sohal Adnan from Pakistan.  Sohal is the top seed in the category and was the ultimate winner.  All appreciation to our boys, who displayed perpetual grit and technique by securing the 5th position in such a prestigious tournament. We wish our budding squash players the very best in their future endeavours.
