World Robotics Olympiad 2023

This prestigious event was held on Saturday, 12th August, 2023 at Bahria Town Schools and Colleges Premium Campus. Various school teams from all over Pakistan participated in the competition. Aitchison College, Prep School officially registered three teams for ‘Future Innovators Category in the WRO’ National Event 2023 (Junior Category). Our teams performed extremely well. One of the teams secured the first position in ‘Future Innovators Juniors Category’. Our teams made the following projects:

  • Smart Helmet
  • Smart Mirror
  • Trash Cleaner Boat

‘The Project Smart Helmet’ was adjudged the best and given the first prize.

The winning team comprises of the following students:

  • Ayan Tariq (Class: M2G1)
  • Shiraz Ali (Class: M2G1)
  • Essa Hassan Cheema (Class: M2C2)

Now, the winning team has qualified to participate in the international Event of WRO 2023 going to be held in Panama November, 2023. 

World Robotics Competition

Our team, Ayaan Waqar, Hadi Saif and Ali Saif have won the National competition for the World Robotics Olympiad in the Future Engineers Category. The team has qualified to participate in the International WRO championship to be held in Panama City in November 2023. Over 90 countries and 14000+ teams participate in this event.

For the purpose of the national competition, the team made a self-driving autonomous car which performed so well that we won by a margin of 70 points. Based on the previous year's score sheet, our team is placed 5th internationally. In the 19 years of this competition, no team from Pakistan has made it to the top 5 as of yet.

Aitchison College Mathematics Society Wins Bronze Medals In Singapore

The Aitchison College Mathematics Society sent a delegation to Singapore International Math Olympiad Challenge (SIMOC 2023) under the supervision of Sir Ahmer Ibrahim. More than 1600 students from 30 countries competed in this event held in National University of Singapore on 23rd and 24th July.

Pakistan's delegation of 24 students, comprising of 4 Aitchisonians, took part in 3 events and performed exceptionally. Following are the results:

Pakistan's High Commissioner Ms. Rukhsana Afzaal expressed her immense elation with the outstanding performance of our delegation at a lunch that she hosted for participants at the Pakistan High Commission's office at Singapore. It was a very informative and interactive event for our students. 

 

NSB 2023 (National Science Bowl) Regionals

The Aitchison College Science Society sent a 2 team delegation to the National Science Bowl Lahore qualifiers on the 22nd of July, 2023. After being selected from a pool of 250 teams, our boys competed against the best schools in Pakistan, performing exceptionally well.

After many rounds of rigorous competition, both teams managed to secure their spot in the finals, where Aitchison College Team A directly competed against Aitchison College Team B, a first for the entirety of the event's history.  After a tumultuous start to the final, both teams were equally matched, with the round ending as a win for both teams.

Aitchison College secured the winner and runners-up prizes and was declared the best delegation at the event.

The boys were also selected to compete in the Nationals Round, going to be held at Islamabad in August. Best of luck to our teams; we are sure they will make us proud.

Summer at Syed Babar Ali Library

Syed Babar Ali library organized summer activities for the nourishment of young and adult minds. These included a motivational seminar conducted by Ms. Tosheeba Sarwar, a story-telling session by Ms. Rubab Baqir and arts and crafts workshops led by Ms. Lalarukh Agha and Ms. Alia Naqvi.

The Library also hosted Movie Days in which book adaptations were shown in order to develop more love for books and incentive to read them. English Language workshops were also held for Campus Boys and Girls which were aimed to improve their listening, speaking, writing and reading skills.

The activities were held to create a community of book enthusiasts and to bring all creative minds together under one roof.
